How Early Can I Enter The Country?
Entry is allowed 30 days before the program begins.
How Early Can I Apply For An F-1 Visa?
You can apply up to 120 days before your program start date.
Can I Work While On An F-1 Visa?
Yes! On-campus work up to 20 hours/week during school, full-time during breaks. Off-campus requires CPT or OPT authorization.
What Is The SEVIS Fee?
The SEVIS fee is $350 for F-1 students. It funds the student tracking system and must be paid before your interview.
What If My Visa Is Denied?
You'll receive a denial letter with the reason. You can reapply with additional documentation addressing the concerns.
How Long Is The Visa Interview?
The interview itself is only 3-5 minutes, but plan for 2-3 hours total including security and waiting.
